Kate has a daughter: Amelia.
They spend a lot of time together even with Kate's hectic schedule. Amelia is the perfect daughter: she is a straight A student and she never causes any trouble.
One day Kate experiences what every parent dreads: she loses her child. Unable to comprehend how is it possible that her daughter is gone, she tries to connect the pieces of the events that lead to that dreadful day. The police is certain that Amelia's death is a suicide and Kate at first believes them. Then she gets a text: "she didn't jump"
Determined to find out what happened to her daughter, Kate starts digging. Texts, facebook messages and emails, Kate goes through them all. In the process she discovers a side of Amelia that had been hidden, a side that ultimately led to her death.
I so was moved by this story. I thought it was excellent and very well written. I enjoyed the twists it had as I kept on guessing what really happened. I really felt for Kate. A very good read about a mother-daughter bond and the teenage cruelty.
