"Stories are the wildest things of all, the monster rumbled. Stories chase and bite and burn."
A Monster Calls was a deeply emotional book. We follow along the heartwrenching tale of Conor, who is trying to come in terms with his mother's sickness.
A "monster" comes to his aid. One that takes the form of a yew tree.
He tells him three tales.
Three tales of how people can be both good and bad. And he teaches Conor how human is the wish of ending your pain.
I really enjoyed the story overall and I want to check more of Patrick Ness's work.
